Me again, cluttering up your Guestbook. Thanks for your latest entry. I feel the same way. My best hope for motherhood is being a 2nd hand mom/aunt/big sister to my nephew and my best friend's kid. It's a terrible but sweet kind of yearning. Now stop making me cry, dammit. Later, babe. -J

Nope... hee hee! "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition" is a Monty Python reference. I have a tendency to quote Monty Python liberally. It's one of their funniest sketches. Or so I think. But then I'm a tad eccentric. (grin) Have a good weekend and enjoy your Dad's visit. Take care.-J

What you felt was the normal reaction of any good parent. And yes, you're still a parent even though Hope isn't part of your physical world anymore. Losing a child doesn't cause you to be an "ex-parent". What you went through with Hope in such a short period of time makes my years of single parenting look like a cake walk.
I'm going home to hug my kid.

Today's entry brought tears to my eyes. Really it did.
<br>
It makes want to go home and squeeze my daughter soooo tight! (Even if she does make me spill green paint all over the place, I am SO blessed to have her!)
<br>
I wish my husband knew how blessed he was to have a loving family. He takes us for granted to often....
<br>
You have such a grasp of what is truly important in life...
<br>
One day you will be blessed with all of the things that you desire.

While yesterday's entry cracked me up (though I'm sure frustrated you to no end in the bookstore), today's nearly brought tears to my eyes. I too think of children as such an asset, and now with one of my own (and what a darling she is), I would have taken the balking at many kids personally. ... My mother-in-law is from a family of nine kids. Six of the siblings live here in town with their familiess. The gatherings on Sundays for dinner are huge, loud, and so wonderful. You're never alone here and I love being part of such a large, loving, wonderful family. And not solely because of that, but due in part to it, I want many children. I don't know what many means exactly, but as many as happen and we can provide for. ... It doesn't seem right to say 'best of luck with the children thing', but know you're in my thoughts and prayers.

god I'm crying after reading that last entry on kids and family. That's what I've always wanted, and thanks to nature even if I ever find a wonderful guy like you to love me, I'll never be able to have the joy of motherhood, or a legacy to pass on. Geez..you're such a wonderful person, and you deserve so much more than life has given you.

When you're done the C.S. Lewis book, Madeleine L'Engle wrote one that sounds similar, when her husband died. I haven't read either one; I'm saving them for when I need them and hope it will not be anytime in the next half-century.

Wow. You would think that would be a basic screening tool to work in a book store. If you mispell something on your application, then you're out. Then again, what would be write about in our diaries if these fools weren't out there "entertaining" us.

Dang, already you've been flamed... I'm with you though. The pathetic way people spell today is a tragic statement on the US education system. Take a a bit of a powder, Dana. I'm sure you're a wonderful teacher but not all of the teachers out there are as dedicated. Would you like me to send you my copy, Widower? Lemme know. -J

"This wasn’t some pimply-nosed teenager (in which case I would have simply understood that he couldn’t spell because they don’t teach things like spelling and grammar in the public school)." I'm greatly offended by that kind of statement. I work my behind off teaching grammar, spelling and writing skills to teenagers. I go to work every day and teach. Have you ever been a teacher? Can you speak for every school or for only the schools in your area? Please, don't lump all teachers together.
