Okay, I give up. Why DID she decide to keep your sorry (though cute) butt around?

A very wise man once said "The heart has reasons of which reason knows nothing of." Sometimes things just fall into place when we least expect them. I'm sorry to hear your foot isn't feeling much better. As an alternative to going to a doctor, I reccomend talking to a rolfer. They do a type of intense deep tissue massage. You can go to www.rolf.org to get more info about the technique and to find practioners in your area. I've found that it helps me tremendously. We ran yesterday afternoon and I was very concientious about drinking a lot of water. It helped a lot. I've also found that I just can't push myself as hard as I can when it's cooler. I've got to slow down for the heat. Take care.

I keep denying that fate exists, and then I read something like this. Thanks.

I have a hard time doing my long runs early in the morning. I usually need to eat something because I will bonk hard if I don't and I also have to go potty about 40 minutes into the run, which can be very inconvenient. To top it off, I have to be at work by 8 a.m., so even if I start running by five, I don't have enough time for a full two hours. But, on weekends, when I'm not as rushed, I will get up around 4:30-5:00 and start running by 5:30. We're planning a long run for this Friday. It will probably be an early one if we go into the desert. I'm practicing drinking water this week.

I also suffer from foot pain that usually starts in my right heel and travels up through my calf. It's not anything serious but just some type of over use injury. I have found that Rolfing, a type of deep tissue massage, helps a lot. It may be that you have a lot of tension built up and a 1hour to 1 1/2 hour massage will take care of it. Also, rolling a golf ball under your foot can help. Taking time off from training now won't really affect your marathon much. You can only build endurance up to 6 weeks prior to an event. It may be very beneficial to just stay off your foot for three days or try riding a bike. I hope that helps.

if you don't mind telling...why did your wife kill herself? My wife has post natal depression, and I am very afraid she may do something like this.

Well. Just found your diary -- I don't remember how -- and read a whole lot. Just wanted to say ... what? How well you write, how your story touched me... thanks.

7:51 a respectable pace? I couldn't even run one mile at that pace, so I'm in awe of you.
