I'd have to say I disagree with you on your Super Bowl pick. I think the Pats will win by a wide margin.

Your entry about moving on is totally right on target! Sometimes I think it's easier for widowers who had a wonderful marriage to move on because we know how wonderful love can be. When Rich died, I found this site: http://www.widownet.org There is a message board for all kinds of issues relating to widowhood -- including remarriage. :)

What a great entry. Too true, too too true. Hope the new place is doing well for you and Marathon girl.

Your entry is exactly what I needed to read today. I should send it to my father. He has been very lonely and upset over my mother. They divorced last year and a few months ago it was finalized. She moved to Florida and he is still stuck here in Alaska. He is having a hard time letting go and keeps thinking, she will come back to him. I am leaving the state in a few months and he begs me to stay, but I can't. I don't know how to tell him that he needs to move on with his life. That he has to create his own happiness. Its so much easier said than done though.

I think it's pretty nifty that you're reaching out and hoping to help other people with your own experiences. Some people can't make that step. And even for those of us not romantically involved with a widow/widower, there are lessons to learn from some of your entries :)

Ah I totally agree with the U-Haul stuff. Using a truck takes twice as long (unless you're the luckiest guy on earth who has eight friends with pick-ups that can all help on the same day), and using the U-Haul is twice as easy! I'm moving myself next weekend and will be utilizing the moving truck. Yay! Did you check out babycenter.com yet? They are having a winter sale. :) Have a nice day!

Hi, thanks for your note in my guestbook ... I just read your entry today ... I don't know if your co-worker thought he might die young, sometimes an early-age heart attack is a sort of "wake-up" call and over the last 10 years, he had the gift of time to give to his wife and child. And I think that, having been through what we have, we do appreciate the blessings in our lives. Have a good week :)

I couldn't get your guestbook to work, either. I related very much to your latest entry. At the start of my 29th birthday, I feel my own mortality and the weight of living life to its utmost. Thanks for expressing it all so beautifully.
