I'm so excited for you and your wife! I hope that labor goes smoothly and easily for your wife, I think it will since she is so healthy and active a person. I know that your son will be everything you dream of, everything she dreams of, and more. God bless! :)

My #1 favorite parenting book is Children: The Challenge by Rudolf Dreikurs. It was written 40 years ago so is out of date in places, but it's still excellent. I highly recommend it.

I love reading what you write! It's so refreshing, in a strange sense. Anyhow, if you happen to like sci-fi/fantasy, read the Dragonriders of Pern Series by Anne McCaffrey, as well as Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. Those are definite winners. :) more to add to your list ;) but only if you like that kinda style. -Jacquie matthew 6:33

You're completely right, you know. I hate hearing about the "good old days" because the people who say that don't usually know what they're talking about, but it drives me totally bugshit to hear that from parents. You have a very, very good chance that you will see your child live to grow up. That's more than anyone 100 years ago or more could say. To me, that pretty much drowns out anything else you can say about changing times.

Sorry to hear that Marathon Girl's got high blood pressure but think it's a great idea to drop her with her mom so she's not going totally nuts during the day. Praying for a healthy and 'speedy' delivery. :)
