Yeah know, I think I might have lost several nights sleep over the lay/lie issue. I'm so glad it is now resolved....Dani.

He's not scared of being in the dark yet because he did it for 9 months. It is usually quite comforting. They really start to get scared when they begin to realize they are alone. Then the crying starts, and the reassurances begin. I am glad to hear that things are going well for you! Have a great day! s-b

It's "lies there," not "lays there."
"Lie" is something that someone does. "Lay" is something that someone only does to someone else. They're frequently misused.

I love the smiley age! I go to Houston in a couple weeks, and I'll have a smiley 1yo, a 2mo niece, a 2mo nephew, and a 4mo nephew smiling at me! And over Xmas I'll have a 1mo niece to at least hold! All of these babies!!! All of these smiles!!!

Thanks for the welcome--glad to be back. Glad to know all is well with your family. (But I'm wondering what this life-changing stuff is all about...not nice to keep us in suspense!)

I salute you in how you deal with rejection. Myself, I'd become too dispirited. But, you're right, we should not be writers if we can't take our work getting turned down.

You're exactly right about rejection letters and your book. Check out the Writer's Market series for other places to submit it to, and keep at it! Follow their directions completely, and give them exactly what they want. Also, you could try selling parts of the manuscript to magazines, showing the book people that it's interesting enough for those audiences. Of course you'll have to make sure you retain rights and all that other legal stuff... All right. Enough professional babble. Just keep up your submissions, and someone will bite!
