Oh, right...winter. You know, I've been to the Houston area a zillion times (my brother lives there) but I think every single time was in the summer. I'm sure winter is much nicer.

Houston is hot and stick from April through September, but from October through March the weather is very nice and comfortable.

I haven't sent my ex over to your page yet (from San Antonio), but I'm sure she'd agree about all that was said about TX, especially the heat part and the fact that Houston doesn't represent TX. (She really dislikes Houston)

Check ebay for Texans tickets. They're always trying to get rid of those things :)

How wonderful for you three! Owning a home is so much more rewarding than renting. We sold our house when we moved here to Florida and now I realize just how much I miss it. Even though it was more work, it was our own. I really hate where we live now. Ya live and ya learn. Take care! :)

Congrats on the house! It's nice to have that time to move and organize stuff as you go along, especially since you don't have a mortgage payment for another two montsh!

We closed on our house September 30 (nine days after the wedding, eep!) when our lease wasn't up until December 31. It was super nice to have two whole months to clean, paint, find furniture, etc. and not have to get everything done all at once. Of course, it sounds like your house is in better condition than ours was--lucky you!

Congrats on the house -- and they should clean the house before they move in -- that's par for the course, and they should also fix spackle holes. So it's all good. Isn't this exciting? To think you can move on slowly over the next month:)
